There are restrictions on number of students and conditions for studying.

Master's thesis

Master's theses will be evaluated by the examination committee according to the following criteria:

  • The thesis is in the appropriate format according to the specifications of the diploma policy of the Graduate School of Organic Materials Science.
  • The thesis must either demonstrate novelty or originality and contribute new knowledge to the field of organic materials science, or consist of independent investigations that can adequately prove that the candidate possesses the fundamental knowledge, understanding and problem solving ability necessary to successfully perform research in the field.

There are restrictions on number of students and conditions for studying.

Doctoral thesis

Any student who anticipates acquiring the required credits, as specified in the curriculum standards, and has received the necessary research guidance can apply to have their thesis plan evaluated. Upon successful completion of the evaluation, the student can write their thesis and proceed with the prescribed formalities to apply for their thesis evaluation. The submitted thesis will be evaluated by the doctoral committee selected by the Graduate School.

Theses that fulfill the following four criteria will be deemed successful.

  • The research topic is novel and original.
  • Based on the author's technical expertise to adequately plan and execute their research, the background and the purpose of their research has been adequately clarified.
  • The thesis is appropriately organized and formatted.
  • The thesis is logical, and the conclusions are clearly stated and conform to the established research theme.
